Do you want to rock? This class will teach you the necessary ingredients to play simple rock songs. You will learn how to form and play power chords as well as being introduced to the 15 essential chords. To complement these chords, we will play simple rock riffs including Smoke on the Water, Iron Man and Day Tripper, and I Love Rock & Roll. You will also be introduced to the fundamentals of music including easy rhythms, reading music, tab, and identifying the notes of the major and pentatonic scales on the fretboard. This class is designed for teachers and parents who want to bring music into the home and classroom. This class will include learning to play simple 3 & 4 chord songs and sing at he same time, basic music reading, strumming patterns, easy finger picking styles, and how to use the much needed capo! Students will learn how to read music enough so they can use most song books. Our repertoire will include family friendly songs such as If I Had A Hammer and classroom favorites such as Shake Your Sillies Out, Corner Grocery Store and the Monster Mash. You’ll be the hit of every classroom and campfire! Class will begin when four or more enroll. |
